There's a guy who posts on the poliboard who I think was a Green Berets. He worked northern Iraq. He's never been high on the Kurds.

I worked with a couple of ODAs that worked Northern Iraq, Salmaniya, Arbil, Rawanduz, etc. The main difference between the Pesh and everyone else is their commitment. They are actually willing to fight, not run at the first sign of trouble.

Are the Kurds taking part in the invasion or just Iraqi military?
Article didn't say anything about the Kurds.

The Iraqi army, backed by Shiite and Sunni fighters, has begun a major effort to retake Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit from ISIS militants, a likely prelude to a move on the Islamist terror group's Iraqi stronghold of Mosul.
It is good we got some Shiite and Sunni's to put away their differences and fight together. Getting the the majority Sunnis back on the right side will be huge in defeating ISIS.

Sources said a force of 27,000 was attacking the city, backed by artillery and airstrikes by Iraqi fighter jets. Iraqi state TV trumpeted the start of the offensive Monday morning, reporting that ground forces were advancing amid artillery fire and Iraqi jet strikes. The source said that these forces were being "supported by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps on the ground" while the U.S., French and Iraqi air forces were all conducting sorties to aid the ground troops.
Well that could be a problem in the future, but I guess deal with the enemy at hand first and the enemy of my enemy in my friend for now on this matter.

This is also what I hear out of people from the State Department in Diplomatic Security.
