It was money. He wanted more, and he deserved what he was paid and nothing more.
I'm not saying Steele is better, but it is time for Chavis to hit the road. Incidentally, he does not strike me as a guy that people would want to be around. That includes parents and athletes alike. He reminds me of Wimpy, Popeye's hamburger eating friend.
