1-4 was outstanding television and 4 is one of the best single seasons of any show I've watched. 5 slipped a bit but I was still intrigued by the Jordan Chase storyline (didn't really care much for lumen). 6 started kinda going off the rails and I have thankfully erased 7 and 8 from my memory as far as what they're even about. I will never forgive the show for the very last scene, just flat out inexcusable.

Very good synopsis. It was my favorite show. I even enjoyed 5 & 6. I was in denial during Season 7 and when 8 started I realized it was done. I literally would sit down pissed off knowing I was going to hate that week's episode. The finale was as bad as I ever seen. Funny thing, I would have instantly loved it if they ended with a shot of Hannah walking up on Harrison messing with some dead animals. But nope, we get Wolverine Dexter who somehow survived being miles offshore, with no boat, in a hurricane. It was an abortion.

There's an outside shot that Nolan stole the ending of the third Batman movie from the last Dexter episode
