So a place where Golf has been played for almost a century now shouldn't have a golf course? I played the Wismer Course in the 90's. It was slammed on the reg.

Just because it was one thing doesn't mean it should always be one thing. Societal values change. City Park straddled the edge of a swamp and suburbs 100 years ago. It made sense to put a golf course there. Now the entire area is developed, and rather densely at that.
