A lot of banks are open past 5. Their branches may close.
Like Doctor's and Dentists offices?
Because the way of the future is people wanting to spend their time in a bank like a bank is a walmart or something. Less and less people are walking into a bank than ever and you want bank branches to open longer? ATMs are 24 hours a day. Applications are developed to allow you to bank online or do most bank txns yourself. And you want branches that need security and staff to stay open late at night long after the Federal Reserve has closed its books?

Every other business has extended hours for busy people who work during the day
Like Doctor's and Dentists offices?

few branches open to 8 or 9 they would have tons of business.

The second poster was right. Banks close when they close to balance and make sure all items are posted to accounts
