The only thing pretentious imo about Birdman was it was a story about actors being actors. Keaton's character could have been a man on his last rope in any profession.
The only complaint about Birdman is the ending, but you didn't even get there.
I'm sure a network will add another pawn storage reality show soon to appease your tastes.
