When you think about it, it would have been awesome because.

1. It would have been Make it / Take it, since they actually scored on the opponents goal

2. There would be basically a 10 second shot clock to score on the opponent's goal or it would be a backcourt violation (and there would be no 3 seconds in the lane

3. If the ball crossed halfcourt, you would basically have to "punt" it out of bounds to the other end, if you gained conrtol and try to steal it before it crossed halfcourt again ( or you would get a backcourt violation)
