Football could be much MUCH better though if the basketball kids would come out to play.

that's always been a problem for us... plenty of athletes, but they just don't go out for football...

i'm gonna have to tell my boy Jude to go do some recruiting work on the basketball team... lol...

Then you know there's talent just not enough depth YET. We would have beaten ESJ who's one of the more talented teams in the state, in regulation if our kicker wasn't injured (missed game winning extra point, then lost in ot). We put up 300 yards of offense on Hahnville, we hung with Destrehan for 3 quarters then tired out. Then the year before we were a playoff team if we didn't play the entire year with our 4th string QB after losing the first 3 by week 2.

Like I said, we're a good QB or hell just halfway decent QB play away from being a good team. I think the Allemand kid should be starting, he's much more talented and comes from some of the best QB bloodlines CL has had, but Menard seems to like Aucoin so hopefully he can improve he's ok just not consistent.

There's enough playing already to be a good team, but yeah we could always be better if our best guys would play. Quindon Charles, Quaid Williams, Lionel Baptiste are good basketball players but probably not D1 college players. If they played football for 4 years though they'd be D1 recruits especially Charles who'd likely be a major recruit. Like I said though Menard's been building from the ground up, he's been building relationships with the kids while they're in junior high and playing bantam, so each year he gets more and more kids to come out for the team.

Back to basketball. I just went watch Parkway's hudl videos, they seem to have some good height that could give us trouble and it looks like they can score a bunch. CL looks faster more athletic though. This should be an exciting fast paced shootout.
