For the sake of this conversation, let's leave budget out of it.

We fish all over southwest Louisiana from big lake to Sabine and all points in between. This boat won't be trailered (much) though. It will sleep in our slip by the salt water barrier and will make runs down the channel to prien lake, Big Lake, west cove and black lake. Wouldn't mind something that would handle some skinnier water too but we're not looking for flats or skiffs.

Also would like to be able to pull the kids on a tube on occasion but I don't see that being a problem for any of the three we looked at today.

I was really looking to see if one brand of the three I mentioned was better than the others. The blue wave looks to be better in the comfort column while the pathfinder looks to be a bit more fishy (for lack of a better word)). The nautic star seems to fall in the middle.

Sounds like any of the three mentioned will meet your needs. I would own any one of them.

I would probably have to give the Pathfinder the edge over the other 2 on overall quality of boat. The pathfinder will certainly carry the highest price of those three.

I think it will just come down to prefence.

Do you have dealers in close proximity of where you will be storing the boat? Having a close dealer for service work so you don't have to haul the thing across the state would be a factor for me.

Pathfinders are superior to both of these although they are good boats. I have a 2001 Pathfinder and I can say the hardware is top quality but the best feature of a Pathfinder is the live well, I have had owners of Champion and Ranger say the PF well kept bait better.

Go with the 24 if you can......you will thank me crossing Lake P or at Venice.
