we did Sedona last year and loved it. It was really just a stop on the way to Flagstaff where i had work, but i wish we had spent more time there.
I would recommend looking into the hiking excursions before you go. we thought we'd just show up and go, but the timing wasn't right.

Give yourself an opportunity to hit the shopping areas. Lot of weird, but a lot of fun. and i'm a guy who hates shopping.
Obviously, you're not far from Flagstaff and Grand Canyon so if you can accommodate some time to hit those i'd highly recommend it.
ETA: Take the switchbacks, not the interstate if you go from Sedona to Flagstaff.
