Remember that you are MUCH better off getting to the start line healthy and under-trained than injured and adequately trained.
If you are considering the walk/run approach try it out on one of your long runs of 20+ miles.
Try to do one by running the whole time, walking when you need. Then for the other one, try to walk every single mile and see how you feel.
Start by making walking 1/10 of a mile every mile...then, maybe once you hit 12 miles, increase the walk break to 2/10 of a mile. Judge how you feel at the end of the run and that will give you a good stategy for miles 20-26 on race day.
Aid stations are good opportunities for walk breaks and if you have a GPS watch, just mark it at each aid station...if not, go to a track and see how long it takes you to wlak a 1/4 mile then stay diligent about walking a decent pace not just dragging your feet like a zombie.

I'm really hoping to get through the race without having to walk. For one, I feel like that makes it more of an accomplishment, and second, once I stop running I have a mentally tough time getting running again, so it's generally just best for me to not stop unless absolutely necessary.
