The hate for DJ, much like the hate for JJ was misplaced. Blame the decision makers for playing guys with limited abilities. Hell, he was blamed for missed tackles at times he wasn't in the game.

Not even close to the same.
JJs attitude and actions did him in with fan base.
Only thing welter is guilty of is not being an elite linebacker.

That is an excellent point and couldn't be more true. The problem is in both circumstances, not unlike the excuses we hear today from those decision makers as to why Harris doesn't play or why Mettenburger couldn't start from day one is that these guys don't know the system and then miraculously when they do get in they perform significantly better than who they replaced. Our decision makers are suspect.
