3 inches, round about, I suppose. The recipe calls for 2 inches of oil, so obviously the chicken has to be turned.

Actually... I'm seeing now that most are around 2.5, so that might cause some trouble. I do have an induction cooktop that I could use instead... I guess I'll do that.
