Okay, so I knew Franks was the top dual threat in the country, according to 247, and I've been thinking about this and it has me pretty excited.

Pryor was 6'4, 225 and ran a 4.4 40-yard dash out of high school (He ran a 4.33 his sophomore year at OSU). 247 has Franks listed at 6'5, 220 (I haven't found a 40 time for him, anyone know?). I'm assuming that with him being a dual threat he must have a relatively close 40 time to this.

Pryor may have been an idiot later in his college career and sucks in the NFL, but he was the perfect college quarterback. Is Franks the same type of player? I haven't watched really any film on him, but his frame seems to set him up to possibly be.

Obviously, for him to play like Pryor though he can't be lined up in the I-Formation 50 times a game, though.

Terrelle Pryor was pretty much unanimously considered to be the top overall quarterback in the nation when he came out. Really hard to compare the two unless Franks dominates camps/AA games the way Pryor did.

I don't know what he runs, but it's nowhere close to 4.4. Don't get all caught up in the dual threat listing. He's more pro style. Go watch some highlights, he's nothing like Pryor.

I'm hoping he's more like Marcus Mariota 2.0....

Franks is going to run a 4.8 laser time. He's probably going to end up around 235 by the time he finishes college. His dad is pretty stout.

I don't need any more multimillion dollar arms with nickel heads.

I'd prefer a $750k arm and a million dollar head - we can win games with that.

Pryor was a better athlete. Franks already looks better as a passer than Pryor did in highschool.

He's listed with a 4.7 40
He's more like J. Russell and R. Davey at this stage in their careers.. Pocket passer with good mobility.

Franks = Joe Flacco. Let's just hope he can develop into that.

Hopefully he runs a 6.00 40 so he has to stay in the pocket and learn how to be a QB

Wow! That's quite a jump in logic.

I'd be willing to bet that his 40 time is not below 4.6. Very few human beings are that fast.

If there is anyone who Franks compares to in recent years, it is Blake Bortles. Pryor was a freak athlete, and while Franks is extremely athletic, he is not quite the runner and athletic freak Pryor was. Like Bortles he is big and tall (will get some more muscle on him once he gets to campus and starts working out). Great arm strength, and pocket passer by nature like Bortles. However certainly has the ability to run and improvise to make big yardage plays with his feet if needed.

All in on Franks as LSU's future QB
