Looks like Megan is still around. Is Weiner trolling or do you think she will play a major role down the stretch? I really thought her story was wrapped up after Waterloo.

I could see Sally doing some crazy shite and winding up in Cali and crossing paths with her.

Unrelated but I just saw that Jared Harris is directing an episode this season

I don't recall them officially divorcing so I'm sure they'll wrap that up. Hopefully she's not pregnant or some crazy shite like that.

Are we to read anything into Don and Betty sitting next to each other like that?

Even with the snaggletooth, I still love me some Megan

Vulture posted their very loose analysis which always cracks me up a bit. Some notables:

They've guessed the time jump in the pictures maybe 1972-ish based on this photo:

And a Cosmo cover from "then":

Stan still rockin' the beard and Ken the eyepatch

Don and Pegs still besties (don't fricking ruin their Weiner)

Any coincidence that Don is still wearing his old blue blazer and Pete and Roger are desperately trying to match?

Poor Baby Gene. Never relevant.

Me and my lady are doing a rewatch right now to get ready for this last bit. We are on the last episode of season 6. I love the show even more on second viewing.

My favorite character has turned out to be Pete somehow. He's a two-timing slimeball, but his pissyness and neverending storming out of rooms makes me laugh.

The nuances of the characters were superb. You can feel sorry for someone one second, then hate them, then be amused by them. I think Harry was the only one that I didn't really give a shite about. Some of my memories and favorite happenings:

-Joan getting raped by her husband and having it be left alone until she dumped him. He was trying to defend himself until she dropped it on him. He shut his mouth and left after that.

-Joan and Don have this...kinship....it's almost like the two most popular/attractive people at your high school that make you wonder why they never got together. I think them never fooling around is good. You wanna keep that little "wink wink, it would be neat, but I'm not gonna give it to you" feeling. Would Joan be able to tame Don, or would it wind up being the same old story? Hopefully we never find out

-Pete and Bob Benson storyline was great. I thought they did a good job at making Bob so overtly disingenuous that you had to wonder at least sometimes if maybe he was just the worlds nicest guy. Of course, he's not. Imagining Pete's mom getting thrown off a ship is darkly humorous.

-My lady says her favorite character is Ken Cosgrove. He definitely seemed to be the most intellectual and least slimy of them all. He bordered on aloof to me at times...like he was above it and he knew it, but I judge him favorably.

-Don is one of the worst people in the world. I felt awful for Megan, and was glad when that fell apart. Don should just be alone, and see his kids here and there. He doesn't care about anyone, he can only pretend. I constantly have Sopranos sympaticos in the back of my mind, but Don is basically Tony minus the killing and plus a ton more booze.

-Sally is great. Nice progression. Obviously her seeing Don about to take Freaks and Geeks to pound town is her most memorable moment, but I think she was already on the road to full on hating both her parents. Also, Glenn went from pure oddity to an actually somewhat serviceable character by the time he visits Sally at boarding school.

-I definitely had more sympathy for Betty on second watch. She is definitely flawed, but knowing Don is unable to sustain any kind of actual loving relationship dims the glare on Betty for me. Many of her storylines are still boring, though.

-Peggy is a great character. After the scene where Don calls out Ted for letting his emotions for Peggy dictate their work, my lady mentioned that Don does this to Peggy multiple times. He swept her pregnancy under the rug, but he still lords over her. Peggy often mixes business with pleasure, and Don doesn't like that. Only he is allowed to do that in his mind. 'The Suitcase' is obviously a touchstone episode for this show, hinting at the downward slope of Don and the rise of Peggy.
