The whole Miles doesn't develop QBs thing is the actual epitome of what is wrong with our fans.

His whole premise, a completely fricking retarded premise at that, in excluding Russell, Flynn, and Mett's obvious development in their time in the program under Miles' watch is that they didn't spend their first year in college under him. Ok.

Yet that fact actually gives clear fricking evidence that the success they achieved in their final year in the program, under Miles, was VASTLY above what they did early in their careers, under different coaches, clearly showing DEVELOPMENT under Miles. Ok.

So out of the FIVE quarterbacks that have finished their careers under Miles, the THREE that showed clear improvement are excluded because they were under different coaches at the beginning of their careers when they did not perform as well as they did at the end of their careers, under Miles. Ok.


So that leaves Jefferson and Lee that he claims did not develop under Miles. Lee unquestionably played better in 2011 than in 2008, so much so that posters of hoohoo's ilk pretend that Lee not playing in The Rematch is the sole reason that we lost and the perfect example of why Miles is so bad at utilizing the QB position.

Which leaves Jefferson. While Jefferson did regress in 2010 after a good 2009 season, he clearly bounced back and was a good quarterback in 2011, until the last two games of the year, one of which was a 30+ point win in the SECCG to give LSU it's first undefeated SEC title since 1958, the other being a Rematch against one of the greatest college defenses of all time after he was a major part of upsetting that same defense on the road four games prior.

But since these idiots have the attention span of a toddler, they forget all of the improvement he displayed before that and write off the entire 2011 season as no development because we lost the last game of the year, to a team we had already beaten.

This just in, Tom Brady had a terrible season in 2007.


I've posted this before, but for all of the "bad QB play" talk we have to deal with around here, it is fun to look back at Miles' 10 years here and actually see how the QBs played:

QB play by year:

Excellent: 2006, 2007, 2013

Good: 2005, 2009, 2011

Average: 2012

Poor: 2008, 2010, 2014


So for all of that talk, 6 of Miles' 10 seasons have had excellent or good QB play, 1 average, and 3 poor, only 1 of which was in the past 4 years.

And of the 1 average and 3 poor years, only ONE was in a season where the QB was not in his first year as a starter in the SEC, 2010, and ALL FOUR of the QBs went on to improve in their final years.
