One thing people are failing to realize, even though it was mentioned earlier in the thread, is that the Bunkie Shipley's is different from any other Shipley's. He uses the Shipley name and packaging, but he uses his own recipes which make the donuts distinctly unique. Personally I'm not a fan of the plain glazed there; they have an almost gummy texture that I'm not fond of. But the chocolate filled and cream filled are great.
As for Donut Shop in Natchez, I ate there a couple months back and was disappointed. The donuts tasted like they had been fried in old oil. Tamales were good though.

Never had donuts in Natchez, but the tamales are excellent as are the old school hamburgers. The shipley's on Louisville in Mecca makes a fine glazed donut.
