I've read that cold or hot means nothing, and the amount of sunlight in the day everything.
Deer around our camp rut about one or two weeks before Christmas every year, despite LDWF saying it's really in mid to late January for us.
Although, we did notice some small "secondary rut" action this year in January that I've never noticed previously.

Yeah I heard you guys shooting about two weeks ago. We were a buck desert. What they hell did yall do drop a couple of trucks or corn or something. (LOL) All the bucks were in that area this year.
I heard that dentist between just dumped his turkey corn early. I must have had a good year cause I heard it was a ton of it.
