He wasn't a better player because LT revolutionized the game from a pass rushing stand point, but he was a better rounded linebacker.
I think he also said that he thought Ronnie Lott was the best defensive player in league history, or maybe it was just defensive back. As for me, I don't really know.

One other thing about LT: he was the first player I saw who consistently did the "slap tackle" to try and cause fumbles. Was there someone who did it earlier?
