I like that Elliott's charcater has some tie-ins with the Bennetts. The problem with the whole Detroit mafia and Crowes angles were that they just had no real relation to the area. Mags was more a family feud which was a blast to watch, Season 1 was all about Boyd's dad. Season 4 introduced us to the hill people and the local legend of Waldo Truth and Drew Thompson and introduced Colt and the snake-toting preacher. And then Quarles, while an outside villain, drew in so many people such as Dickie Bennett, Limehouse, Arlo, Duffy, etc. that it actually worked that he was from Detroit. The best seasons are the ones that really play on the regional aspects of the show and this season definitely has that feel. Right now, we appear to be making a grand tour of all the old familiar faces (Dickie, Loretta, Limehouse, etc.) so I'm curious to see where it all comes to a head.
