Exactly the point I was coming here to make. ... Obama's "argument" is the most ridiculous statement I've seen him make thus far, and that is saying a lot.

I don't think it's as ridiculous as you think. You can't view the tribal Afghan, Iraq, and Syria, and all those conflict torn regions - which have been in war with each other for centuries - similar to the modern world of the West. They aren't the same one bit, the people have a completely different mindset. Unfortunately, those leading the masses are akin to Alexander the Great, or whatever have you. The only way to promote your message is through the sword.
