What the OP doesn't understand is she is one of the BSC types where every brain function is directly tied to emotionally driven thought. Then it completely disolves once a month and drains out the blood. She probably left the journal out for him to read on purpose. Maybe what was written wasn't truthful but to illicit a response.

Sounds like a depressive episode. The suicidal thoughts should be taken very seriously. People who don't reach out for help while contemplating suicide are far more likely to go through with it. Get help quickly.
