I loved calculus. Honestly, I loved math in general. I used to tutor a lot of kids and I understood very early on that the way I explained things with one kid may not work with the next one which may be why I have such strong feelings about this.

I see what they new way is doing...
We all do mental math in our head by some method or another than we have concocted in our head over the years. (well at least the people that are good at math).
This is just a way of showing some of those methods on paper. It seems confusing on paper, especially when it is explained retardedly, but the concept is similar to what we do in our heads.
