Appearing on the E! network's aftershow, West said, "I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should've given his award to Beyoncé.

"Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you're disrespectful to inspiration," West continued. "And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyoncé album and they feel like it takes them to another place."

wtf. Aside from writing some if not most/all of this tunes, here's a list of instruments he plays.

Instruments
Vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, harmonica, percussion, sitar, banjo, slide guitar, twelve-string guitar, glockenspiel, vocoder, kalimba, melodica, beatboxing

to be fair, Morning Phase isn't a top 5 Beck album.

I really need to hear this interview so I can see what the tone of this was when he said it. He seemed to be making fun of himself when he ran up on Beck this time so I'm guessing that its very likely he was being sarcastic when he implied that Beck is not a real artist.

Monumental feats in music?

Beyonce's album is on par with Beethoven's 5th for sure.
