As to Benson the family is headed to court which is never good.
Now it will be in a Judges hand to decide the facts despite the amazing thoughtful penetrations of the original OP

Worst Case Scenario: Judge forces Benson to sell the teams to a 3rd party, of which then both Gayle and the 3R's divide the proceeds.
Then no one wins, except for the deep pockets (probably not from NOLA) who buys the team and moves them to greener pastures.
I think that would be called a pyrrhic victory for both parties. The other guy didn't win, but neither did you. Of course, the millions soothe the pain, except for the fans.
Because what you have then is a valuable team, with an out of town owner, a really old stadium, and a town without much of a business base. That is not good.
