I used to do it.

It isnt as bad as it seems.

Sort of just becomes a routine.

I did it for a 100% pay increase doe.

If I kept the same benefits I'd probably do it, especially if there was an end in sight and the job was a stepping stone to a bigger goal.

Amount of miles doesn't mean much. How long would it take to drive those 45-60 miles?

Like daily? How long did it take before you started hating your job due to that? Is it worth a 40% pay bump to take a job requiring that (assuming you won't relocate closer to said job)?

I can't imagine. I'd blow my brains out, unless the money was great, like at least twice what I'm making now.

That kind of grind eventually takes its toll on anyone.

Katy to Baytown/Mt Belvieu. Around 130ish round trip. I was doing that daily from jan - June this year but have been in the office since June, which is only 12 miles from my house.

It sucks at first but you do get use to it....it just sucks a little bit less. I will have to start making this commute daily agian in the next few months

I do. 150 miles a day roundtrip. A big pay bump is why I did it. Been doing it for 2 years now. You get used to it, and it teaches you zen and patience. The one thing that makes me hate it sometimes is the fact that I lose close to 4 hours of my day from the commute. Thus eliminating almost all of my free time.

I drive from Gonzales to Kenner. 44 Miles one way. Twenty years at five days per week.

I listen to Hannagriff and Ott until I get to Laplace. Signal fades. Then I listen to 100.3 out of New Orleans.

I use roughly 70 gallons if fuel each month. The recent fall of fuel prices has netted me an extra 100 dollars per month.

I drive 65 miles one way(takes an hour). I actually moved away from Columbus but didn't want to part ways with my job. I'm used to the drive now and it doesn't bother me at all, but the miles I put on my car stings.

I do only work 4 days a week, which helps, but I'm the type of person that would prefer to work 5 shorter days. With the drive, I just refuse to switch back to that schedule though.

Baton Rouge to NOLA for me.... I don't mind the drive in the morning. Drink my coffee and listen to sports radio.

The drive home sucks every once in a while but I love my job.

I've had a 90 mile commute since 2006. Did it originally for a 50% bump in pay. It's an easy drive mostly I-10. Have a wife and 3 kids at home and work in a large office so the drive is the only quiet time I have during my day!!

I drive about 800 miles a week on avg. Work with all the refineries and chem plants. Drove 1300 miles last week. I'm home all but about 2-3 nights a month so no big deal to me.
