arse. Still working on that.
But...when I was a new grad (2001) there really was a nursing shortage and you didn't have to have a BSN. You could have a nursing diploma or associates and take your pick of any nursing job in any area of nursing you wanted.
You basically decided what area you wanted to be a nurse in, applied and usually got the job. It's just not like that anymore. People just still keep thinking that there is this massive shortage in regards to nursing. Just depends on what part of the country you are at. But...when you live in an area that has multiple nursing programs, with people on waiting lists to just go to school....doesn't sound like a shortage there.
