Agreed. Again though. In an industry where root causes aren't immediately known union's still have a place. Documentation is something now done for job protection rather than actual safety.
It gives you a day in court to defend your side with an impartial judge.

Agree, but large unions are trying to remain relevant so as to sustain their huge profits by placing exceptionally ludicrous demands on companies such as not being able to hire contract workers to replace union workers when they retire or leave, regardless of whom is most qualified for the positions. This has zero to do with attempting to promote seniority, and everything to do with keeping the union in existence to maintain its profits.
