Details?

STRICTLY rumor. I have nothing to confirm, but Beaumont is pushing back against the national contract. Not sure what, if anything, that really means.

Yeah, this is what has me wondering. I know they were offered a really nice bonus for 5 years(?) and getting off contract. Wondering if they are still looking for a bonus or want to take their chances at being off contract.

I didnt hear that it was the replacements talking about how great it was but rather the people in and out every day.

The capacity utilization, work tickets completed and basic compliance should speak volumes. No clue what those numbers are

Off contract allows the locals more power

Baton rouge exxon got a 2500 bonus for early ratification.

True statement. It's been better than ever, so they say.

XOMBR is also getting an additional $2500 on top of whatever was negotiated in NOB.

More control over what they request. Less power when it comes to a strike. A company like XOM can go nationwide and pull enough hands to fill even the BR site the event of a strike. Especially if they have to give a 90 day strike notice.

So it makes sense for an exxon site to have a local union with the power.

XOM in Beaumont wants off contract because of the refinery expansion project. They don't want anything happening that can jeopardizing delivering that project.

Like I said, good and bad.

You have all the control in the world to ask for a BJ, but if you have no leverage your wife will just laugh.

Their contract states that they comply with everything the NOB companies have/get plus a little extra. Plus a little extra and a 75 day cusion.

Looks like the vote for Convent is tomorrow and Norco Tuesday, at their respective Union Halls.

I saw on Yahoo that Marathon Galveston bay is going to continue striking. Wonder what's going on out that way

It looks like Marathon Galveston is not accepting the terms. Must be trying to end the union.
