You may want to rethink your name-calling as your analogy does not apply to my post in the least. Not close.

Now, think and try again.

The criteria you posted is from the original union demands. That is not the reason they are holding out at this point.

Well you were smarter than me. Day 1 on the unit I was pretty much jammed up and told to join. I've been here 36 minutes and these guys are intimidating. I don't want to piss anybody off and I don't have to pay dues for 6 months. What the hell? Ok.

I didn't know what I was doing. They said the union was good so I signed.

Do I regret it? Hell yeah.

I also learned my lesson.

Thus the question and qualifier, "If so.." the initial demands are beyond laughable and that is my point. The unions need to GTO with that shite.

No wonder they are on strike with idiotic demands like that. They can stay gone and eventually be replaced. Consumers win.

From what has been said, the raise and bonus was fine, just no retrogression.

Can you explain this?

Can we somehow change this thread to just be about keeping up with what is going on with the strike and negotiations? I think the tards on both sides pretty much made all the points that need to be made after around page 10 or so.

I mean, the dick measuring contest was funny at first, but nobody is making any new points.

The strike resulted in a bullshite increase price hike at the pump. (good excuse or not)

Non-union workforce would not have the same cause and effect.

So, less workers to pay (cheaper overhead) means higher prices at the pump.

Then, lower paid workers (cheaper overhead) means lower prices at the pump.

Didn't look at it that way.

The price increase isn't bullshite. At least not complete bullshite.

The no retrogression issue is what the Union is pushing but it's not the issue. The issue is that the Union wants to be involved in the staffing levels of the companies and Shell being the lead company is saying not no but frick no!

There is supposedly some type of update progress being present tomorrow. Everyone is waiting to hear the news or no new news tomorrow.

Out the gate every offer will come with no retrogression. It will have a huge raise and bonus attached. That way it looks like you turned down tons of money and the company side uses that.

USW needs to earn their spots back if they want them. It took decades to erode the forces it will take decades to regain them.

I agree. The retrogression clause will be in this contract if the Union backs off of the issue with staffing levels on unionized labor.
The company has no reason to react to anything union does. Shell is holding strong and isn't going to budge IMO.

It was communicated to us when the strike was called that the company said we'll put in no retrogression if you back off of staffing. Simple. Do it.

Quit fricking around and get this over with.
