Now, why go to the trouble to recruit a 7-footer who is regarded as a good prospect, meaning ER3, and let him waste away on the bench. He'll get no better doing that. It is time to give him a shot again, also what about Bridgewater? It is obvious this depth needs to be developed for not just this season, but next season as well.
Even with the great recruits on the way for next season, it won't hurt to develop some depth.

Shut your stupid mouth. Darcy was a bright spot in a miserable game plagued by poor performances. Quit being a racist.

t's time to try Odo or ER3 for some minutes. I hate to rag on a kid but he's just not a player in the SEC
Incorrect.
Stop looking at the PPG/RPG stat line only.

I'm curious as to why he started the first three games and is scarcely seen the court since.
I get that he's raw and not ready. From what I saw his movement is his biggest liability. He moves very slowly and stiffly and he was absolutely getting exposed in pick and rolls, among other things limited movement exposes.
But didn't they see these things early? Yet they chose him early to try to develop (I guess) and left our other two bigs who have a year in the program on the bench. Odo was tried a few games, now Malone. Interesting.
And it's reported he's been sick. I do know there was an OOC game early in the year when we finally pulled away late and Johnny told him to go in and he refused. Johnny had about a minute long conversation with him on the bench then and he finally got up and went in, but his (Elbert's)body language was still telling.
May have something to do with it.

I'm still mystified that Gray averaged 30+ppg in JUCO. How bad is JUCO for that to happen?

i thought he played well in the first half, 5 is basically a black hole anyway. was hoping elbert would be a tad further along at this point.

Darcy isn't a bad defender just because he's so big but he's just frustrating to watch on the other end

he's a decent passer (which isn't saying much given how horrible this team is at passing) should run some more hi lo shite and get martin running to the rim

I think Darcy is our best bet this year. I believe he is better than Odo and Darcy is only a sophomore. Hopefully Elbert gets it by next year.
