If a woman can pass the physical standards, fine. If she can't, fine. But it's pretty odd to assume that someone dedicated to fitness to an extreme degree just can't control him or herself around the other sex.
You take a group of men and women in their physical and sexual prime, put them in a highly stressful situation far from home and isolated from their friends, family and loved ones where they face the stress of military life and there will be people looking for a way to relieve that stress and find comfort in the opposite sex. One of the biggest problems with having women serve side by side with men is that it never fails that there will fraternization. It's not a matter of if, only when and how many.

The fact is the women just trying out will take a mans spot who is in better shape. There are limited spots available. It's just a waste of money in the name of pc.

Young women are always empowered, sexually, as they generally have more options as to when, where, with whom. This is amplified when the ratio of males to females is ~8:1 (and even in "female heavy" units, it is probably 3:1).
Therefore, it never fails to occur. Not with every single female - but every unit that is coed. Period.
