If a woman can pass the physical standards, fine. If she can't, fine. But it's pretty odd to assume that someone dedicated to fitness to an extreme degree just can't control him or herself around the other sex.
You take a group of men and women in their physical and sexual prime, put them in a highly stressful situation far from home and isolated from their friends, family and loved ones where they face the stress of military life and there will be people looking for a way to relieve that stress and find comfort in the opposite sex. One of the biggest problems with having women serve side by side with men is that it never fails that there will fraternization. It's not a matter of if, only when and how many.

The fact is the women just trying out will take a mans spot who is in better shape. There are limited spots available. It's just a waste of money in the name of pc.

Excellence doesn't matter when it comes to pc because excellence is racist unless the jelly beans fall out in the exact correct proportions.
Anybody who knows anything about stats knows it would be a statistical freak of nature for every single subset of a bigger population to come out in the exact same proportions as they are in the larger population in every single endeavor they try.

I'm sure some could do it, calm down.

Maybe create a BUDs lite and if they pass that then move up to the real BUDs. DC and their frickng Hollywood dreams. Just create a whole new special forces for females only. Take the top candidates from each branch and put in a training program geared more towards them. No point in taking away a spot from someone more qualified, like they do in the civilian sector. I think if the standards are lowered you would find it impossible to put these substandard graduates into a real SEAL team. TBH I can see a training scenario where that below par newb gets hurt bad enough to where they are processed out forever.

Qualified female candidates can now apply for the Ranger Course.
Are you talking about Ranger school or RASP?

This,
You may be the world's top crossfit athelete, but what it takes to get through BUDs is more mental stamina than any of us ever realize.

Young women are always empowered, sexually, as they generally have more options as to when, where, with whom. This is amplified when the ratio of males to females is ~8:1 (and even in "female heavy" units, it is probably 3:1).
Therefore, it never fails to occur. Not with every single female - but every unit that is coed. Period.

Buds is not like BCT or something where if you stick it out and pass the minimum fitness test you are in. There are benchmarks that you must reach and pass. That alone will make it nearly impossible never mind the mental test.

Women shouldn't be special forces and it literally has to do with their vaginas.

It will turn out worse than letting women into Infantry Officers Course for the Marines. 0% pass rate.
So be it.
As long as they don't put a stool by the fence, let all have a shot.
Is there a rule against taking testosterone?

I don't see them passing.
If they let this happen, NO special considerations anywhere. No special crappers. No special showers. Nothing. These warriors will be in the worst of the worst, so there should be no additional creature comforts even down to medical.

This is not possible with the modern military - if they choose to put women in - there will be quotas to pass, and all the special considerations they always get.
I say this both as a field grade officer (27 years, mostly reserve component) and the father of a female soldier. What you are suggesting is impossible. Either they let women in (with all that entails) or they keep standards up and women out, period.

Ummm I think the whole dod is starting to allow women to try combat arms roles. So this isn't new news to me

What could possibly go wrong?

No can't be rasp. I don't see women being in the regiment.

It's coming, but they're probably just going to open up Ranger School to allow females to attempt to become "tab" rangers first.
But, believe me, it's coming. For no good reason other than political correctness, but it is coming.
