It's a valid point. I mean, I would likely try and maintain the friendship, but this is big stuff. If you became best friends with a straight guy or a guy at all, and you later learn he's gay or he's becoming a woman, that may or may not be the same person you were friends with.

Yep..changing is normal and usually not a big deal, changing how you look, act, where you go, who you associate with is a big deal.
