My fatherinlaw put one on his house he built 18 years ago. The metal is still original but he has had to change the screws out 2 or 3 times and each time going one size up on the screw. That's a pain but he likes the look so he deals with it. It has no dents and has survived every hurricane just fine. IDK about the electricity bill.
