That really is the best place for me to mount the TV given the way my front room is set up. Is above the mantle not an acceptable location? I've seen plenty of TV's mounted that high.

Yeah, not sure what he is talking about.

As long as your sitting a normal distance away, this shouldn't be a problem.

Above the mantle is fine as long as your seating is a reasonable distance back from the fireplace.
