Genius?

If im calling for a double team from my couch, I hope the coach sees the same thing.

Illogically calling for it is different than making a smart call..... The double team on Carmelo a few games was horrible. He's a chucker who doesn't hit a great percentage if he's not muscling a guy down low and we double him from the least threatening place on a ball court(long 2), leaving a wide open 3 point specialist at an incredibly easy spot to find and pass.

Recognizing that, say, Al Farouq Aminu is in the game and you can afford to rotate over knowing you won't be in that much trouble if they find him open would be an example of a smart double team. Getting way too caught up with the word "clutch" and thinking you need to put 2 guys on a guy who shoots the same percentage as the guy you leave wide open just because its the last 2 minutes is not.

That's been a hallmark of Monty's defense the past few years.

Not simple digging on the post, but needlessly doubling and then no one knowing how to rotate to the wide open shooter.....Just like Pop drew it up
