Austin does not suck.
1. Bbq from places like Franklin and la bbq is top notch
2. Lots of breweries with great tours and taprooms
3. The east side is interesting
4. Trendy restaurant/bar scene but many are quality
5. Barton springs
6. ACL and good live music, both local and national. Not sure who thinks Nashville is better.
Overall it might it not blow you away at first glance but it's one of the best cities in the country.
