There biggest jump in antler growth will be between 4-6 yrs old

According to a study done by MSU and Texas A&M this is incorrect. A deer has reached 80% of his max potential by 3.5 years

Should have clarified, those are the years when they will reach there prime and max antler potential. Like I said, until 3.5 yrs of age the majority of nutrients ate going to bone growth, the difference between a decent deer and damn good deer is going to come in that 4.5 year and up. A nice 120" 8 point was killed on a buddies place a couple weeks ago when I was up there, weighed out at 230lb and was run down bc of the rut. We pulled the jaw bone and he was a 3 yrd old 4 at the oldest. Chances are another year and he would have been walking around as a solid high 140-150", they have the deer on the walls up there to prove it.

Also not saying that those are wrong but there have been studies that prove otherwise.
