Here son take this money and go buy some musical taste. Just because John grew tired of love songs and related to the world around him. Speaking out against war, racism, and the stupidity of US and UK's drug laws.
Imagine the worst song?? WTF you are in a minority in your views. He actually pushed Paul's creativity
Don't know your age but one day you will understand..

Marley was just getting really big. Peter Tosh would be a fun one to observe in current times

No one has mentioned Janis Joplin.
I find her "voice" entirely grating and unlistenable.
Fun fact, she was voted ugliest man on campus by students at UT.

I do agree that John Lennon's solo career is entirely overrated and it is IMO the third best of the Beatles. George is my favorite.

Ian Curtis.
Also Buddy Holly, as many others have pointed out in this tread.

Your opinion, as much as you're entitled to it, is fricking retarded.
Especially considering he has Cobain on his list. He's probably the most overrated artist ever. Yeah, Hendrix sucks, but Cobain was great............get the frick outta here with that shite.
My list.........
Lynyrd Skynyrd( what they did in just 5 years was amazing, and with the addition of Steve Gaines they were evolving into something even better)
Otis Redding
Duane Allman
Jim Morrison( their last album was great and I think they were really gonna do some great blues stuff)

Kurt Cobain was a great songwriter, Hendrix wasn't even a good songwriter.
I'd rather listen to a good song than watch a guy play a guitar solo for 10 minutes.

So much wrong here. At least Hendrix could actually play a guitar.
And have you ever heard, The Wind Cries Mary? May This Be Love? Little Wing? Wait Till Tomorrow? Castles Made of Sand? Voodoo Chile? Gypsy Eyes? Crosstown Traffic"?
The longest of those songs is 5:12
The intro alone for Little Wing is better than anything Cobain ever did

I appreciate songwriting over musicanship.
Kurt Cobain could play a guitar, he just wasn't into pointless 5 minute guitar solos.

Again, the longest of those songs is 5 minutes. And all those are more well written songs than Cobains stuff.
"The Wind Cries Mary"
After all the jacks are in their boxes,
and the clowns have all gone to bed,
you can hear happiness staggering on down the street,
footprints dress in red.
And the wind whispers Mary.
A broom is drearily sweeping
up the broken pieces of yesterday's life.
Somewhere a Queen is weeping,
somewhere a King has no wife.
And the wind it cries Mary.
The traffic lights they turn blue tomorrow
And shine their emptiness down on my bed,
The tiny island sags downstream
'Cos the life that they lived is dead.
And the wind screams Mary.
Will the wind ever remember
The names it has blown in the past,
And with this crutch, its old age and its wisdom
It whispers, "No, this will be the last."
And The Wind Cries Mary."
It's no "Rape Me" but not many can hold a candle to that
Rape me
Rape me, my friend
Rape me
Rape me again
I'm not the only one, Aaah
I'm not the only one, Aaah
I'm not the only one, Aaah
I'm not the only one, Aaah
Hate me
Do it and do it Again
Waste me
Rape me, my friend
I'm not the only one, Aaah
I'm not the only one, Aaah
I'm not the only one, Aaah
I'm not the only one, Aaah
My favorite inside source
I'll kiss your open sores
I Appreciate your concern
You're gonna stink and burn
Rape me
Rape me, my friend
Rape me
Rape me again
I'm not the only one, Aaah
I'm not the only one, Aaah
I'm not the only one, Aaah
I'm not the only one, Aaah
Rape me! (Rape me!)
Rape me! (Rape me!)
Rape me! (Rape me!)
Rape me! (Rape me!)
Rape me! (Rape me!)
Rape me! (Rape me!)
Rape me! (Rape me!)
Rape me! (Rape me!)
Rape me!
