just measured the threads on barrels. Factory CZ barrel that shoots fine and groups like it should has 0.6" threads. Barrels threaded by gunsmith are 0.4" these barrels don't shoot worth a flip with suppressor installed.

To OP if you have a long slim barrel I might think asking about the effects of adding a suppressor to a slim profile barrel.

Civiltiger07 and AUTImbo, I appreciate the experience you've both brought to the discussion. I'd never thought that how far the threads extend from the muzzle to the receiver could make a difference, but I see that now. I'm a little confused in that it seems as if y'all have polar opposite experiences w/ each other, but sometimes guns can be like that. I plan on sending an email to Silencerco and seeing what they have to say, as well.

I've got a friend locally who threaded a bunch of barrels; he said he'd help me w/ mine. I think I'll thread the factory barrel on my 30 yr old 77/22 and see how it shoots. If I don't like the results, I can get a new barrel. My barrel is 20" long and thin (OD 0.55"). I could see where altering the barrel harmonics could have either a good, or bad, effect on the accuracy of a barrel.
