Plan on going for two weeks this summer.
I have a friend living in Germany so im thinking of landing there.
I want to visit Croatia Italy Spain and Portugal but want to sneak in as many places as possible.
If I start in Germany should I swing by Prague on the way to Croatia even if its only for a night?

Really looking for suggestions in Croatia< is Zgreb worth it or should I head straight to the coast and hit Rijeka,Dubrovnik, Split. I hear Pula is a cool area too. Any suggestions on the best/cheapest way to travel between the cities. Any other cool places, anybody been to Krka national park?

Italy I should be with someone living there and I want to see Rome Vatican and Pompeii. If we have time I might go to sicilly but is there anything worth it in the south?

Spain im trying to see Barcelona, Madrid and Sevilla.

Portugal im thinking just Lisbon and then fly home.

If you have any suggestion or tips for each country please let me know, I might not ever make it back over seas and I want to see as much as I can.

I think ill do around3 weeks
Germay/Prague in 3 days Croatia for a week Italy for a week and then Maybe a day or two in Spain(Madrid only)

Zagreb is fun. Check out Salona near Split.

Buses are the easiest way to travel, but Balkan drivers love speed, even around sharp turns, so we may never hear from you again.

Oh, and you have way too much stuff to do in two weeks. It takes at least three days to take in Rome alone.

I actually just got back from Barcelona/Sevilla.

Its "doable" in a week. But I bet you aren't thinking every thing through.

For instance, say you fly from Barcelona to Sevilla. Then you need to return to Barcelona to get back home. Well guess what? Your international flight leaving Barcelona is probably going to be pretty early, but you are going to have to leave Sevilla at 7PM the day before, so now you have 8 hours of just BS time to fill, probably just sitting in the airport or airport hotel.

Just something to think about.

Dude, if you're going with a girl I'd say that isn't going to happen

Its exhausting running around a city all day, every day, for days on end. And its sort of not worth it.

You've got a lot of cool places to see, but if going for 2 weeks, you should probably trim some up.

How much time in Germany? And where are you flying into? Is it just a place to land or are you wanting to hang for a day or two.

Also, Prague on the way to Croatia works well from Berlin since it's practically on the way, not so well from Munich or south Germany since its further out of the way.

Honestly, with 2 weeks I would pick 5 cities max.

May need to choose GermanyPrague/Croatia route or Italy/Spain/Portugal. Sicily is too far to get to in your time frame.

Busy itineraries can work, but I don't think you can comfortably get to all the places you listed in two weeks, simply for geographical reasons.

Which places are a must for you priority-wise?

Kind of an open ended question. Depends on where else you are planning on going if you aren't staying in one general area.

This was a bummer when I went but then I went to the FC Barcelona REal Madrid basketball game. Which was awesome.

If you're near the cruise port in Naples, you must eat pizza at Castel Nuovo Trattoria Pizzeria. Walking straight from the port, it's only about a block or block and a half down a narrow street. It's gonna look a little shady and you may need to watch your pockets (although we didn't have any problems) but don't let that fool you. Eat a pizza there and you'll never think of pizza the same ever again.
I'm pretty sure we helped fund the mob by eating there but wow - it was so worth it.

Italy is amazing. Rome and Naples, especially.

Viator tours will be your best friend. The tours are very reasonably priced and you get to skip the lines EVERYWHERE you go as long as you go through Viator. All the guides are English-speaking and very friendly.

Pompeii and Vesuvius are breathtaking, as is St. Peter's Basilica. Don't penny pinch unless you plan on going back anytime soon. You'll be sorry if you don't do something just because of the price.

Good luck and enjoy!!!

This.

Three nights in Barcelona wasn't even enough for me this summer. It was too much fun. I don't even know what you can see in most cities if you are only there for one night since the day you arrive is going to be a travel day and then you leave the next day.

Just land there, hang with my friend for a night then head to Croatia looks like I will swing by Prague, even if just for a day.

Since im over there I thought id visit my friend but Germany is low on the list. Croatia and Italy are top and my sister will be in Spain(Madrid) so I thought id visit.

Ya, I think 3 days is basically the minimum to get something out of a certain place, where you may just start figuring out where you would hang out if you were ever to return. Same dealio with Barcelona for me as well.

ETA: and maybe its just me, but I think the extra time in a place gives you a sense of really being there. While I enjoyed Spain, there were times I felt like I was visiting Epcot. I think that may have been because Sevilla was much slower over the holiday season, or because of brevity of stay.

May have also been because the country wasn't that messed up. THose places tend to stick around longer on the brain.

I agree. I'm doing Barcelona & Paris this summer for two weeks. We will probably only take one day trip out of each place. Slow down and take it in.
