The difference being a soft top travels well while the hardtop does not. I work 65 miles from home, chances are I'll hit a storm at some point and I'd like to have a top readily available to put up in that instance.

Again...they have bikini top options that would work with this. I even remember seeing a fabric top that you can put on for sudden storms if need be...$120

Another thing to consider with the softtop is that when it is down...it does take up space in the back.

My windows are rarely zipped in when my soft top is installed so it takes all of 2 minutes to put it up or down. I carry the windows in the back underneath the cargo mat.

As for security, in twenty years I've never had anything stolen from my jeeps. I've got a tuffy lockable hatch for the rear floor for valuables and guns (Not available for '15 wranglers because of the relocated subwoofer) and I've had tuffy security center consoles in other models.

Added bonus of a soft top is that you can never lock your keys in the car!
