So is all inclusive the way to go for honeymooning? We are both of the mind that doing our own thing would be more fun, but I'd like to save money as well. I was planning on booking something through vrbo.com on USVI or St Lucia and doing more exploring than resort stuff.

Depends what you want I guess. We've done all inclusives and also vrbo along with condo rentals and liked them all. We did a vrbo cottage/villa a couple years in St. John, USVI and it was great. We vacation probably 2 times a year so we change it up. For our honeymoon we did an all-inclusive that was completely off of the grid and relaxing which is exactly what we wanted. It's nice not having to worry about shopping for food and stuff on your honeymoon.
