So in the last 12 years, there's been ONE successful 5* QB from our recruiting area.

You'll get a second "clarification" before you get an answer to this question.

It's frankly a tired act. The idea is to eliminate the three best QBs during Miles' tenure because he didn't personally sign them to LSU out of high school. Then Perrilloux is eliminated because, despite the obvious potential he displayed, he got kicked off the team.

Which leaves Miles with Lee, Jefferson, and Jennings during Miles' 10 year tenure. Three QBs, none of whom were among the Top 100 recruits in their class, and each of whom were named the starter prior to completing their second season in an LSU uniform.

Zach Lee and Gunner Kiel get chalked up to "shite happens" and the one making the argument feels pretty good about himself.

Successful at the QB position, yes.

I'd argue that Shepard making the pros as a WR/PR is 'success' - even if he is with TB.

Anyone who makes the NFL in any capacity is a success. Every QB to play under Miles at LSU has accomplished this.

Unfortunately, the measure of success for some is only NCs, All-American recognition, and a lengthy NFL career.

There just haven't been a lot of good QBs coming out of our traditional QB recruiting grounds in the past 5 years or so.

That may be the worst excuse I have heard yet. All the positigers talk about is how awesome Miles is at recruiting. And if you say that Miles isn't responsible for recruiting one of the most important positions on the team, the guy who is suppose to be the team leader, then you are a moron. It is his fault for the failures at QB. Especially when you keep going after recruits that have never ran a pro style offense in their lives.

No, shite. Where else would you place the blame? Doesn't change the fact that there haven't been any elite QB recruits in our traditional recruiting grounds during his tenure.

No matter how awesome of a recruiter you are, it's extremely difficult to poach a highly recruited QB from his home state.

wrong:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Jefferson went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft, but was invited to try-out at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' rookie minicamp.[14] The team signed Jefferson to a contract on May 7, 2012,[15] but was waived four days later so that Tampa Bay could have a replacement for Da'Quan Bowers, a projected starter who suffered a probable season-ending injury.[16]

In his four preseason games, Lee was 24 of 47 (51.1%) for 342 yards and a passer rating of 73.2. Lee was waived by the Chargers on August 31, 2012.

Neither made it past the pre-season.

waived four days later. Great experience in the NFL. Really goes with the whole QBs making the NFL. How did I miss that. Get your head out of your arse. Both didn't do crap in the NFL, so don't pump them up to be some sort of glory for mils since they both spent a few weeks trying out.

And how many other players don't even get that shot? Do you think either of them would have gotten that shot right out of high school?

Great come back man. Must have taken a lot of thought to come up with that rational rebuttal to my statement. Glad you feel better about your self and gives Miles another lick for me when you get done.

Your irrational statement didn't deserve a lot of thought nor a rational reply.

Considering no one in the history of modern football gets a shot out of high school then no. I am making a point that someone throws out some crap about LSU Qb's always making rosters when in fact they don'. Or, when some do they don't last past pre-season, don't make the 53 man roster and don't end up on a practice squad.

Do you not understand the phrase "in any capacity"?

Legitimate question.
