This fall, at a military reunion, I met a Vietnam Marine sniper and Carlos was his instructor in sniper school. Lot''s of cool stories. Bottom line was that Carlos was one hell of a Marine.

Thats one of the stories the featured on the show. I've read both books as well. He was definitely a badass...
