LSU has been top 50 in the country in defense efficiency all year (Currently 40th). In SEC play we are top 5 in almost every defensive statistic.
Our opponents score alot of points because we are the 7th fastest team in the NCAA, but points per possession, LSU has played very good defense this year. The offense has actually lagged behind. We are 9th in SEC in conference and 113th overall in NCAA.
That is true. But you also have to take into account that the "OppO" Strength of Schedule is 223 i.e. LSU hasn't played a bunch of highly efficient offensive teams.
Before last night, LSU had only played 3 teams that ranked in the top 100 in offensive efficiency. Last night was a good effort against an efficient offensive team. Hopefully that trend continues
