The issues I have with the hire is that he has been fired at DC or HC at just about every stop he has made.

Bama DC - 2007 - fired

Clemson DC - 2009 -2011 - fired

Baylor HC - 1999 - 2002 - fired

I realize coaches get fired a lot but it looks like whenever he was given a coaching gig with a coordinator or head coach title he shite the bed and was fired. I realize he is a great recruiter and that is huge imo, but when you get the jimmy's and the joe's you still need to teach them the x's and the o's so that they can compete and that could be a problem looking at his resume.

I am glad that the search is over and we have a new DC but I would be lying if I said I wasn't underwhelmed by the hire.

Question: If we went 14-0 this season, Would Kevin Steele be our DC? If you don't think 8-5 had something to do with it, you aren't being honest with yourself.
