Lots of people are thinking this is a thread supporting the hire which it's not. I said from the get go I wasn't a huge fan of the hire. I was just comparing the reaction to this hire and what I remembered with Saban and stating you have to give the guy a chance. Maybe he will surprise us all as. Saban did

You're gonna get a lot of shite for this thread but pretty much every response is idiocy so far.

Saban's season prior to his hire was 6-6. Before that 7-5, then 6-6, then 6-5-1.

These idiots keep saying he was successful there (overall 58% win rate) - THE SAME ONES THAT BASH LES FOR WINNING 10 GAMES.

I remember a very similar reaction on the message boards when we hired Saban. I'm not overly excited about this bit lets give the guy a chance before we persecute him

Are you fricking kidding me?

All I can say is, your memory is faulty.

There was nowhere near the meltdown when Saban was hired and justifiably not.

Saban was more an unknown quantity, but had some impressive qualities. I knew right away he would be more of a disciplinarian than Dinardo.

A big-time program with national championship aspirations does NOT hire a guy with a dumpster fire for a record as a head coach and a defensive coordinator that angers a fanbase who has to hope that the hire succeeds by going totally diametric to his previous shitty track record.
