What I will never understand is why they continue to recruit shotgun, spread QBs then put them under center in the I formation.
Sometimes with Miles and Payton, I feel they would rather be right than successful. Egos are too big and it blinds them at times.

It's because LSU wants the athleticism of a dual threat qb that can also be a drop back passer. The playbook opens up significantly if this type of qb is in place. The problem is finding a guy that has the football iq, aggressiveness, and competitiveness required to fully maximize the system. Jennings doesn't have it, Harris is on his way but not there yet. A qb like Braxton, Jameis, etc would thrive in this system.
